Why shouldn’t you eat processed white flour?
- Wheat consists of three parts, the bran, the germ, and the endosperm.
- To produce more flour for the masses, mills opt for a cheaper way to produce wheat flour by crushing only the endosperm, the largest part of the grain.
- This process results in the loss of the bran and the germ, which consist of most of the nutrients in wheat.
- The remains are the white flour, which is nothing but carbohydrates or some form of sugar. It destroys the whole purpose of consuming the healthy part of the wheat.
- Our markets are also filled with wheat flour that is bleached using bleaching powder and agents to make it look whiter. These additives cause severe damage to human bodies.
- When you buy wheat flour, ensure you avoid buying anything that has white flour or enriched flour in the ingredients list on the packet.
How is wheat flour made?
Traditionally, wheat flour is produced through grinding wheat in a stone mill. We at Seed and Soil follow a similar method using roller mills. Handpicked whole wheat is carefully collected, cleaned, and fed into the crusher. The grinding process is slow as the grains get smashed between the crusher.
This process helps in retaining the complete nutrients of wheat. Our wheat flour retrieves the healthy portions of the whole wheat, which are richest in proteins, vitamins, lipids, and minerals. Enjoy the most natural form of wheat at Seed and Soil, as we don’t add preservatives or additives that are harmful to the human body.
